Anything can happen. The sky is not the limit. It is the perfect place to dance. Notes to the Conductor The opening of the piece should feel like entering an enchanted garden. Tempos should fluctuate a little as the piece swells and wanes. The dance section should be highly energetic and extremely light. When you see a staccato, I mean it. Not clipped off and harsh, but short and light as you would find in a ballet. Be aware of the contributions of the percussion at all times as they are the driving force of the piece - but they should never be overwhelming or over-obvious. J.G.
